The Many Hands Volunteer Expo will be held at the Oaklands Event Centre in Pambula from 10am to 2pm on Saturday 25 May.

Bega Valley Shire Council’s Community and Cultural Services Acting Manager, Yvette Parker said the Volunteer Expo is being held during National Volunteer Week and will showcase the diverse range of local organisations keen to welcome new volunteers across the Bega Valley.

“This important event will highlight and celebrate the vital work of the many selfless and passionate people in our community,” Ms Parker said.

“It’s the perfect opportunity for people wanting to make a difference and give back to their community. There are so many organisations to choose from.

“We are thrilled with the positive response from organisations across the shire to participate in the expo.

“We will have more than 30 groups representing a diverse range of volunteering opportunities and we’re pretty sure there is something of interest for most people.”

Explore Variety: Discover a wide array of organisations providing services in social support, animal welfare, emergency response, tourism, environment and sustainability, men’s groups, women’s groups, youth engagement, historic and museum, arts and culture, sports and recreation, local societies, charity, health, access and community service clubs.

Connect: Meet passionate individuals who are already making a difference in your community and learn about their experiences and journeys.

Find Your Fit: Whether you're interested in hands-on volunteering, behind-the-scenes work, event coordination or specialised skills, you'll find the perfect match for your interests and talents.

Make an Impact: By volunteering, you can contribute to causes that matter to you, build relationships and create a positive ripple effect in the lives of those you serve.

“We encourage everyone to come along to the expo and see if there is something for them. It’s free entry and there will also be live music and kids activities,” Ms Parker said.

The Many Hands Volunteer Expo is a joint project with the Foundation for Rural and Regional Renewal, under the Investing in Rural Community Futures program.
