Final preparations are underway for the outdoor pool season, with pools in the Bega Valley now scheduled to re-open from Saturday 5 October and run through to the end of March 2025.
Council’s Aquatic and Leisure Facilities Coordinator, Nic Hoynes, said recruitment has been underway over recent months for all Council managed pools, including the recently handed over Bega War Memorial Pool.
“We have been recruiting for a wide range of roles including customer service, operations and program based roles in our Aquatic and Leisure Facilities Team,” Mr Hoynes said.
“These positions are critical to being able to open our swimming pool facilities for the community and deliver programs across the shire.
“During the off-season, we have been successful in working with a number of training providers to bring industry training courses to the Bega Valley, including accessing funding for eligible program participants.
“The response to the recent training courses has been great and included participation from a number of new staff who will be joining our team for the upcoming season.”
There are still opportunities available and people interested in joining our Aquatic and Leisure Facilities team are encouraged to visit Council’s Careers webpage or subscribe to our Job Alerts.
We thank the community for their patience as we transition the management of Bega War Memorial Pool, which includes necessary recruitment, resourcing and program planning.
We look forward to welcoming everyone back to make a splash this outdoor pool season.
