Bega Valley Shire Council is calling for expressions of interest (EOI) for the use of the lower level of the Tura Marrang Library building.

Library Coordinator, Yvette Parker said the Tura Marrang Library building is a multi-purpose building that can cater for a range of community activities.

“Stage 1 of the facility, the library, was completed in 2015 however the lower level, Stage 2 is yet to be developed,” Ms Parker said.

“A development application has been approved for the development of the lower level subject to the outcome of the EOI process and future funding options.

“A report will be prepared for Council to consider prior to any development commencing.”

About the space

  • The proposed lower-level area is currently an undeveloped space measuring approximately 290 sqm2.
  • There is no direct internal access between the upper and lower floors.
  • Initial concept designs incorporate leasable areas, office spaces, amenities, foyer area/lobby, kitchen, training/meeting room and storage areas.
  • There is the potential to directly access the adjacent carpark (30 spaces).
  • The lower level is suitable for the development of a single space or several leasable spaces.

Ms Parker added there are several options available for the use of the site, both commercial and community-based.

“The space would be suitable for use as consultancy offices, retail, hospitality or commercial enterprises, or a combination of one or more,” Ms Parker said.

Interested individuals and groups will need to provide evidence of a proposal that meets planning and building regulations at their own cost.

Council is accepting EOIs until Friday 28 February 2025. For more information and to submit an EOI visit our Have your Say webpage.
