Council operating hours over National Day of Mourning

Bega Valley Shire Council offices will close at 4.30pm today to observe a public holiday on Thursday to acknowledge Australia’s National Day of Mourning for Her Majesty The Queen.

Bega Valley Shire Council offices will close at 4.30pm today to observe a public holiday on Thursday to acknowledge Australia’s National Day of Mourning for Her Majesty The Queen.

Council offices will re-open at 9am on Friday 23 September.

Shire libraries will be closed on Thursday 22 September and will reopen at 10am on Friday 23 September. After-hours return bins will remain open over the public holiday.

Shire waste transfer stations (tips) will be operating regular opening hours and days as listed on Council’s website. The Central Waste Facility will operate under its public holiday operating hours from 10am to 4.30pm.

Bin collection will occur as normal.

On Thursday, the Sapphire Aquatic Centre will be open from 10am to 5pm, however there will be no swimming lessons, squad, fitness classes or child-minding.

Eden Early Learning Centre, Bandara Children’s Services and Sapphire Mobile Preschool will close for the public holiday and re-open on Friday 23 September.

The Bega Valley Bushfire Recovery Support Service will be closed on Thursday 22 September and re-open on Friday 23 September. The service can be contacted on (02) 6499 2345 or via email recovery@begavalley.nsw.gov.au. For urgent housing assistance during that time, please call Link to Home on 1800 152 152.

For emergencies during this period, phone Council’s after-hours service on (02) 6499 2222.
