Bega Valley Shire Council advises works to replace Ritchies Lagoon Bridge on Wallagoot Lane will commence on Monday 19 May, weather permitting.

The project is expected to be complete by the end of August.

Contractors will be replacing the single-lane timber bridge with a new two-lane concrete bridge. The significant upgrade will enhance road user safety, resilience to natural disasters, improve traffic flow and reduce future maintenance needs.

A road closure will be in place at the bridge for the duration of the works. Access to properties on Wallagoot Lane, south of Ritchie’s Lagoon, will be available via Sapphire Coast Drive. Signs are in place.

The project is funded by the Transport for NSW Fixing Country Bridges Program.

Council thanks the community for its patience and understanding while works are under way to upgrade this vital infrastructure.
