The Bega Valley Shire Library will close on three Saturdays in January to allow contractors to conduct major demolition and renovation works at the Bega Valley Regional Gallery next door.

The three closures will be on 15, 22 and 29 January.

Library Coordinator, Megan Jordan-Jones said each of the closure dates are on a Saturday to minimise disruption to regular week-day services.

“We are busier during the week, so we have worked with the contractors to have any potential disruption occurring on the weekend,” Ms Jordon-Jones said.

“Anyone wishing to return an item on a day we are closed can do so through the Bega after-hours return box, and we’re also open on weekdays until 5.30pm so popping in after work is another option.

“Our other shire libraries in Eden, Tura Beach and Bermagui will be open as usual from 10am to 1pm on the Bega Library closure dates.”

Ms Jordon Jones said the Bega Library events booked on the closure dates will still go ahead and will be relocated to another venue.

“If you have tickets for the Scoob! movie on 15 January or Thirsty Plant and Macrame on 22 January, library staff will be in touch to let you know the new venue,” she said.
