Eden George Brown Oval Pavilion Upgrade

Upgrade of George Brown Oval Pavilion in Eden.

Project Summary/Background

This project will upgrade the aging and non-compliant 'traditional' changeroom facilities at George Brown Oval in Eden to more suitably accommodate for both male and female players, officials, volunteers, spectators and other community users.

The project has utilised the National Rugby League Community Facilities Guidelines to guide the project design and ensure that it promotes dignified inclusion in sport participation.

The project involves the construction of adaptable change room spaces that can be used as separate male and female spaces when required. These could also be utilised by match officials.

With women’s rugby league growing each year, providing appropriate facilities for female participants and officials will generate a greater participation level, increase usage of the facilities and promote a sense of safety and belonging for female members of the club and visiting teams.

The project will also see a significant upgrade to the roof structure and spectator viewing area to provide a shaded area on the ground side of the pavilion and sealed roof to protect the new facilities from water ingress.

Accessible amenities will also be included in this project along with an upgrade to the existing amenities which will provide the community a facility that is fit for purpose.
