Project Summary

Cobargo Skatepark

The Cobargo Skatepark was a community project developed by the Cobargo Skate Club. The Club was successful in obtaining a grant from the NSW State Government and, along with other funds the club were able to raise and many hours of volunteer labour, the project was completed in 2012.

BMX Track

In 2018 the Cobargo Skate Club submitted a Community Project Proposal called ‘Baskets & Bikes’. The club worked with a large group of volunteers to build a BMX track using 1,000 tonnes of free landfill from the Dignams Creek bypass. It took just three weeks and was the result of almost 400 hours of volunteer time and assistance.

Netball/Basketball Court

In 2023, the Cobargo Skate Club and Cobargo Green Recovery Inc group worked on the second item of the ‘Baskets & Bikes’ community project being the development of a multi-use netball and basketball court.

This project was funded by a $109,178grant through the NSW State Government Bushfire Resilience and Recovery Fund program. Council staff supported the project through design and procurement advice.

Carpark

This project saw the delivery of a carpark upgrade, providing improved access to the basketball/netball court facility, skatepark and BMX track and the Narira Park sportsground.

The works included 30 new car parking spaces, including two accessible parking spaces, pavement repair, bitumen seal and line-marking.

This project was funded by a $100,000 grant through the Federal Government’s Investing in Our Communities program.
