Bega Valley Shire Council encourages feedback on the draft Use of Public Land (Local Approvals) Policy, which aims to provide a clear and simplified pathway for activities to enhance the shire's public spaces.

Bega Valley Shire Council encourages feedback on the draft Use of Public Land (Local Approvals) Policy, which aims to provide a clear and simplified pathway for activities to enhance the shire’s public spaces.
“We are looking to streamline the approval process for certain activities on Council-managed land to help activate our public spaces,” Council’s Manager of Planning and Sustainability, Keith Tull said.
“This includes activities such as al fresco dining, busking, street stalls, guided walks, temporary art installations, parklet activation, and more targeted opportunities for mobile food vending and fixed point of sale vending, without negatively impacting established retail food and drink premises.”
The draft policy has been reviewed in line with relevant actions of the Bega Valley Local Strategic Planning Statement 2040.
A copy of the Council report endorsing the public exhibition and further information on the draft Policy is available on Council’s Have Your Say website.
Comments on the draft policy are welcome in writing or via the Have Your Say webpage until Sunday 2 May.
