The Tantawangalo community now have full access to Slaters Lane after Council reopened Slaters Bridge earlier this week.

Works and Assets Manager, Ian Macfarlane said the new bridge provides assurance for road users without losing its rural feel.

“The timber and concrete construction fits well into the rural setting while providing adequate strength to remove the previous 5-tonne load limit.

“Local road users will be happy to know they have full access to the entirety of Slaters Lane again after the two-month construction period.

“Guardrail installation and sealing of the approaches will take place in coming weeks if the weather allows, so as always we ask road users to drive with care.”

For more information on scheduled works, road closures and reopenings, visit Council’s website, or call 6499 2222.
