The future of the kiosk at Tathra Beach is looking increasingly inspiring, with work set to commence today (21 September) on rejuvenating the building.

The future of the kiosk at Tathra Beach is looking increasingly inspiring, with work set to commence today (21 September) on rejuvenating the building.
Funding has been allocated to the building under the Australian Government’s Local Roads and Community Infrastructure Program and assessment works have been undertaken by Council officers.
Internal demolition work will kick off the rejuvenation project, and an engineer and designer have been engaged to work up plans for the kiosk on the back of this.
Bega Valley Shire Council’s Property and Facilities Coordinator, Rickee Marshall said the project will add a great deal to the precinct, and coincides with the finalisation of an open and transparent Expression of Interest process for the lease of the building.
“We received five very high-quality submissions and are delighted that the future of the kiosk looks bright,” Ms Marshall said.
“The successful tenderer was Bronwyn Pividori whose business, Blend Providore offers residents and tourists breakfast and lunch, year-round.
“We congratulate Bronwyn on her successful acquisition and look forward to this Tathra icon being open to the public again.”
Ms Pividori thanked Council for the impending rejuvenation work, which will bring the kiosk back to its former glory.
“The Tathra Beach kiosk will be a separate entity to Blend; providing fresh, simple, clean flavours with ‘paddock to plate’, fresh local seafood and other local ingredients that will complement the idyllic location on the beach under the Norfolk Pine.
“During the low season, the kiosk will cater for all sorts of different community activities. The menu will change to reflect the reduced business activity, but it will help keep Tathra alive and an interesting place to be all year around.
“Offering a place that tourists and residents alike can rely on to be open at the right times, so they can buy takeaway and dine in all year round, including on public holidays, is vital for the health of our tourism industry.
“Obviously this professional upgrade and fit-out will take a little time, but it will be worth the wait!”
