Beginning Monday 27 May, the NSW Government will reopen Wallaga Lake bridge to traffic for six weeks.
Traffic lights and a reduced speed limit of 40 km/h will be in place for the safety of the community and bridge workers.
Over the next six weeks the team will be taking delivery of new timber, managing microbats and installing pontoon scaffolding in preparation for the second bridge closure period.
The free temporary bus service will not be operating while the bridge is open. The service will return for the second closure period which is expected to start on Monday 8 July.
Pedestrian access across the bridge will be unavailable on Friday 24 May and Saturday 25 May between 8am and 11.30am.
This closure is necessary for workers to remove the pedestrian scaffold and restore the bridge deck in preparation for reopening of the bridge to traffic next week.
The NSW Government encourages the community to make alternate arrangements on the closure days in case there are any unexpected delays.
This is a NSW Government project.
The NSW Government posts regular updates to its project webpage.
