Karen Wright has lived in the Bega Valley for most of her life. She is a single mother of two boys and lives in South Pambula. Karen was elected as the youngest member of Council in 2021.
Karen is a mental health advocate and is the South-East NSW Regional Coordinator at Standby Support After Suicide.
She has been actively involved in a number of community organisations and groups over the years including OzHarvest and the Bega Valley Suicide Prevention Action Network (SPAN). Karen has also been President of Pambula Community Garden and a board member of Sapphire Community Pantry. She currently sits as a Councillor representative on the board of South East Arts.
Karen is passionate about the arts, affordable housing, sustainability and youth, particularly around engagement and future employment opportunity.
