Russell Fitzpatrick was born and raised in Pambula, attending Pambula Primary and Eden High schools.
Russell had a 20-year banking career, reaching senior management level before purchasing and operating Gresham Hotel in Gundagai. He returned to Pambula in 2000 and is a manager at Bobbin Transport.
Russell is a Life Member of the Merimbula/Pambula Junior Rugby League Club and Group 16 Rugby League.
He served on the Southern NSW Health District Board from 2010 to 2021 and the Regional Development Far South Coast Board from 2010 to 2016.
Russell has been a Councillor since November 2009 and was also Mayor from 16 September 2021 to the Local Government elections in December 2021. He was re-elected as Mayor for a second term on 11 January 2022.
He is currently a Board Member of Pambula and District Community Bank (Bendigo Bank Pambula and Bega since 2010).
His community interests lie in affordable housing and community infrastructure.
Russell lives in Pambula with his wife Kerryann.
