AIME Mentoring

The AIME (Australian Indigenous Mentoring Experience) Program is a mentoring program working with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander high school students throughout the Far South Coast. This Mentoring program connects univeristy and community members as volunteer mentors, with the local Mentees in the program. AIME works with these youngsters in schools, providing academic support and future planning within 'Tutor Squads.' These occur in our four partnered schools weekly. Throughout the year all Mentors and Mentees in the program are also brought together for 'Program Days,' at our beautiful partner univeristy, the University of Wollongong, Bega.  At a 'Program Day' all mentees within the Far South Coast program are brought together for a fun day where a series of activties are run that discuss and explore history, resilience, leadership skills, confidence building, goal setting, getting out of ones comfort zone, knowing ones self, kindness, and more. AIME is a fun Mentoring program that benefits not only the Mentees, but also the Mentors.

If you are interested in getting involved with the AIME program, please contact me! Give me a ring, or send an email anytime. As someone who joined as this program as a volunteer Mentor years ago, I'd be very happy to chat.  You can also fill out an application to be a Mentor on our website at  https://aimementoring.com/be-a-mentor .
