Guide Dogs NSW/ACT
Guide Dogs NSW/ACT is the leading provider of Guide Dogs and orientation and mobility services that enable people with impaired vision to get around their communities safely and independently. At Guide Dogs NSW/ACT we provide assistance to anyone with vision loss, no matter what your age or level of vision. You certainly don’t have to be totally blind, or want a Guide Dog to receive our services. All Guide Dogs NSW/ACT services are provided at no cost to clients and we have staff based in the Bega community. Guide Dogs NSW/ACT is a Registered Provider under the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS).
Guide Dogs supplies people who are blind or vision impaired with mobility aids that enable or improve independent travel. Our Orientation & Mobility specialists also provide training on how to move safely through different environments, using these mobility aids. Services include:
• Specialist assessment and training in orientation and mobility
• Adult and children’s services
• Low vision advisory and in-home services
• Neurological vision impairment rehabilitation for stroke or brain injury
• Daily Living Skills
• Workplace training
• Assistive Technology
• NDIS (National Disability Insurance Scheme) support
• Guide Dogs
