Merimbula Big Game & Lakes Angling Club Inc.
MBGLAC is a family orientated fishing club with about 200 members and is active in big game, estuary, beach and bottom bouncing. We prioritise the education of our Juniors (up to and including 16 years) and Small Fry (up to and including 10 years) in the ethics of fishing/angling. The Club is located in Spencer Park Main Street Merimbula and is open to visitors every Friday evening from 6.00pmn.
During the year we conduct a number of major fishing events: the Gala Fishing Weekend and annual “Monster Fresh Fish” auction, with proceeds to charity, the Dusky Dash for Cash, the March Marlin Friendly the Snapper Classic, the Merimbula Open, the Childrens Winter Fishing Competition and the Tri-Estuary Challenge. Located in the Clubrooms is the “Leader Board” listing the length of all the fish that have been “entered” based on a correctly completed brag mat photograph and Website entry, encouraging catch and release angling.
