The ECAC is a hub through which the community can connect with a range of business and social services. It is a ground up, community informed, strengths based organisation which promotes engagement, participation, capacity building and self-determination. ECAC auspices a range of community organisations to deliver local projects to support the social, economic and overall wellbeing of our region. ECAC continues to play a vital role is supporting people following the fires of 2020, Covid, recent floods and now cost of living issues. ECAC partners with several local organisations to ensure community need is addressed in a collaborative and progressive way.
The Eden Community Access Centre (ECAC) is uniquely based in Eden as an independent organisation with a history of service to the community. Its aims closely align with seeking overall development of Eden socially & economically. It has come to be known as the go-to organisation and place in Eden where visitors, residents and businesses connect with social community and business support services. Although its beginnings 20 years ago were in providing tech support, it has diversified and now facilitates access to a full range of community, social, innovation and business support services, linking residents to service providers and bridging service delivery gaps. ECAC auspices several organisations to progress community projects. This allows volunteers to concentrate on developing and delivering the project without the worry of having to ensure the governance and financial requirements are met. For example we currently auspice the Eden Trails Project - 56 klms of Mountain bike trail development; Lap it up Club - inclusive entry into the Eden Swimming Pool; Wonboyn Commemorative group - publishing a book commemorating the bushfires of 2020; Eden Canoes - Providing mentoring and skills to children at risk of leaving school; Welcome Packs - partnership with local ESSCI club to provide welcome packs to new residents to name a few. All this cannot be achieved without our wonderful volunteers providing dedication and commitment to our community.
