Merimbula Jazz Festival
Every June long weekend around 500 jazz musicians gather in Merimbula to play in venues throughout the town, such as the Merimbula RSL and Club Sapphire. Musicians love to come together in our beautiful town to play, but also they also come to catch up with long-term friends, meet new ones and encourage the musicians of tomorrow. They enjoy playing the music they love for audiences who also appreciate jazz. The Merimbula Jazz Festival has been a feature of the town's calendar for more than 40 years and continues to thrive through its active encouragement and inclusion of younger musicians. Jazz Quest, proudly supported by the Bendigo Bank Pambula & Bega, showcases the incredible talents of those 25 and under. Vocal workshops, a gospel flavoured ecumenical service, opening ceremony and jazz party round out a full weekend of jazz music in all its genres.
