In addition to providing Job Network services, Mission Australia offers an extensive range of complimentary employment programs for jobseekers, community and employers. These programs include the Personal Support Program (PSP), Transition to Work (TTW), Mature Workers' Program (MWP), Community Worker Coordinator Program (CWC), Droughtforce, Working with families of problem gamblers and Work for the Dole. Bushfire Recovery Supports and Financial Counselling Service also available.

Financial Counselling Service

The Financial Counselling Service (South Eastern) is a free and confidential service for people who are experiencing financial difficulties which may, but are not necessarily, linked to problem gambling. The service helps clients to find their own best course of action to resolve their financial difficulties and strengthens their ability to manage their finances in the future. The service is available for people residing in the Bega area.

Who we assist

Adults who are experiencing difficulties with managing their finances appropriately. This may or may not be related to problem gambling.

Eligibility criteria

Experiencing financial difficulty caused by problem gambling.

Bushfire Recovery Supports

The Bushfire Recovery Supports program coordinates support for children and families by linking them to services. It also facilitates the delivery of peer-led groups and programs to help children and families gain skills and confidence to maintain wellbeing and positive development.

Opportunity Pathways

Opportunity Pathways is a voluntary program providing social housing clients with support to increase their economic participation & facilitate exits from social housing to housing independence. The program assists participants to gain or retain employment and encourages and supports participants to exit social housing or Rent Choice subsidies in to full housing independence.

Who we assist

*17 or older and meet school leaving requirements; and
* living in public, community or Aboriginal housing; OR
* receiving FACS Rent Choice subsidies- these are time limited subsidies of up to 3 years; OR
* an approved social housing applicant
In addition to the above to be accepted into the program participants need to:
*Demonstrate a willingness to participate, are motivated and able to commit to a mutually developed case plan to work towards their training, employment and/or housing independence goals.

Eligibility criteria

*17 or older and meet school leaving requirements; and

Transition to Work

Mission Australia's Transition to Work works with young people aged 15-21 who have left school early, or who are having difficulty finding work after school. We help young people to develop the skills and confidence they need to move into work or ongoing education (including apprenticeships and traineeships), and we provide no-cost employment services for employers looking to recruit young workers.

Working as a long-term partner in your business, we provide you with support and advice on your workforce development needs, and make you aware of the options available, including access to wage subsidies - ask us for more information. Once your recruit has started we continue to provide support for 26 weeks to make sure they meet your expectations

Aged 15-24 and looking for work?

Left school early or have had difficulty finding work after school? Our Transition to Work service can help you to build your skills and confidence and support you into work or education, including apprenticeships or traineeships.

We’ll work together on a Job plan to help you achieve your education or employment goals, including things like:

Building job-related skills

Linking you to other support services

Mentoring opportunities

Work experience

Securing a job

Support for your first 26 weeks in work or study

To participate in Transition to Work you must be:

Aged 15-24; and

Either an Australian citizen, or the holder of a permanent visa, New Zealand Special Category Visa, or Nominated Visa (including Temporary Protection Visa or Safe Haven Visa).

We accept referrals from the Department of Human Services, jobactive providers, employment service providers, high schools and direct registration.
