Pambula Wetlands and Heritage Project Inc / Panboola
Go for a stroll, ride your bike, watch the birds or simply enjoy nature. It’s good for the body and it’s great for the soul. Pambula village is blessed to have Panboola on its doorstep. Grab a snack from one of the many nearby cafes and head to the picnic tables by the side of Tips Billabong. Escape the heat and enjoy a shaded walk through the Waterbird Sanctuary. The 2.6km walk out to the Pambula River is one of our best kept secrets – you are almost guaranteed to have the sandy beach to yourself! Bike riders love Panboola – it’s a perfect venue for families to enjoy a safe and easy ride together. Cycle around the Old Pambula Racecourse or pass through if you are riding out to lunch at Oaklands. Panboola is a bird watchers paradise with over 160 species recorded. You might even get to see the elusive Southern Emu Wren amongst the shrubs if you travel quietly out toward the river via the Corridor Circuit. Panboola sits on community owned land and is managed by a team of volunteers. We are located on the southern edge of Pambula village and are open 7 days a week. Everyone is welcome, entry is free.
