The school holidays are coming and an upgraded playground and recreational space in Quaama is ready.

Council’s Project Officer, Sean Howle said the upgrade of Quaama Memorial Park is a significant improvement that will attract greater local and visitor usage.

“Now more people can enjoy getting together for activities such as picnics and children’s birthdays in a fresh, open community space,” Mr Howle said.

“We have added a second shelter with an accessible picnic table, parking bay and accessible footpaths to the park’s existing shelter and barbecue facilities.

“People of all ages, abilities and mobility levels can enjoy these inclusive facilitates.

“The new playground boasts a large tube slide, climbing unit and accessible basket swing.”

Bega Valley Shire Council thanks the Quaama Progress Association, Pambula Merimbula Lions Club, Quaama Public School, and Jeavons Landscape Architects for their significant contributions to the project.

The Quaama Memorial Park playground upgrade project has been primarily funded by the NSW Government’s Stronger Country Communities Fund (Round 3), with Council contributions.
