Waste Services Review and Customer Satisfaction Survey
Council's Waste Services team is seeking feedback on community satisfaction and service priorities. This survey asks what services are most useful to you, your thoughts on the fairness of our fees and charges, and what you believe our priorities should be in the future.
Council is currently developing a new Waste Services Strategy. The existing strategy “Recycling the Future” is more than halfway through its timeline, and with changes to National and State waste targets, and the release of the NSW Waste and Sustainable Materials Strategy, an update is required.

Before drafting the new strategy, Council wants to understand current community attitudes toward the service, and your priorities for what you’d like to see addressed in the future.
Have Your Say
This survey is an important opportunity for residents to comment on the quality of the existing service and any important priorities. The information you provide will inform the strategic direction Waste Services takes between 2025-2035.
The online survey should only take 5-10 minutes to complete. It will cover topics including:
- What waste services you access, and how frequently
- Your opinion on the quality and cost of those services
- How much you use Transfer Stations and your transit distances
- What you believe Council’s role should be in managing waste and resource recovery
- What you want Council to focus on improving waste management in the Bega Valley
Council staff will also be present to offer the survey at community events and markets throughout March and April. Dates and locations as follows:
- 15 March, Friday - Bermagui Headland (Sculpture by the Sea)
- 16 March, Saturday - Eden Markets
- 19 March, Tuesday - Men’s Shed Muster – Club Sapphire, Merimbula
- 22 March, Friday - Produce Markets (Bega)
- 13 April, Saturday - Cobargo Markets
- 21 April, Sunday - Merimbula Markets
- 27 April, Saturday - Nethercote Markets
