Wednesday 3 August 2016
The Disability team at Bega Valley Shire Council can help community members find out about and prepare of the National Disability Insurance Scheme through monthly drop-in information sessions at Eden and Tura Marrang Libraries.
On the first Friday of every month, starting this Friday, 5 August, Council’s NDIS Project Officer will be at the Tura Marrang Library and Community Centre from 9.30am to 1pm and at Eden Library from 2pm to 5pm.
Community members will be able to speak with the NDIS Project Officer one-on-one in order to ask personalised questions and receive information that is specifically relevant to them.
Council can provide advice about NDIS rollout timeframes, how to find out about eligibility for the NDIS, the types of services participants may be able to access under this scheme and how to register for the NDIS.
NDIS services that Council can offer include support coordination (also known as case management) and acting as a Plan Financial Intermediary, where Council’s Disability team can undertake financial management of a person’s plan to reduce the administrative burden.
Community members can also find out more about these services at the information sessions.
No bookings are required - you can simply turn up at the right time and ask the Library staff for directions.
