Tuesday 21 June 2016
Due to storm damage, the Sapphire Aquatic Centre, including the gym and child minding room, is closed effective immediately.
The roof and ceiling of the centre sustained damage during the recent storms and a decision has been made to close the centre until the damage has been fully assessed and repaired.
The centre was due to close on 2 July for its annual maintenance period. Today’s closure means the pool, gym and child minding room will reopen on Monday 18 July.
A concern for public and staff safety has led to the closure of the entire centre and cancellation of all Learn to Swim lessons and group fitness classes until the building reopens.
Centre members will have lost time added to their memberships, and members paying via Direct Debit will not be billed during July.
Staff are in the process of contacting all customers signed up to Learn to Swim, development, squad and group fitness programs with more information as well as the process to re enrol for swimming lessons next term.
Staff will also need to be moved from the centre, meaning all enquiries should be directed to info@sapphireaquatic.com.au or Council’s main phone number on 6499 2222.
