Draft Bega Valley Local Environmental Plan
The State Government has initiated a
number of reforms and changes to the NSW Planning System over recent years.
One of these changes was the introduction of a standard template for Local
Environmental Plans (LEPs). As a result, all Councils in NSW are required to
prepare a new LEP in accordance with this standard template. This approach
will ensure consistency amongst Council planning controls across NSW.
Bega Valley Shire’s draft Local
Environmental Plan (LEP) 2010 has been prepared in accordance with the
standard template requirements which govern the content and operation of the
draft LEP and has been certified by the NSW Department
of Planning for exhibition purposes.
The draft LEP guides development in the
local government area. The plan allows Council to manage the ways in which
land may be used through zoning and development controls.
The draft Bega Valley LEP 2010 will apply to all of the
Bega Valley Shire local government area. Once adopted it will replace the existing Bega
Valley LEP 2002.
At the same time Council is also
exhibiting Draft Bega Valley Development Control Plan (DCP) 2011. This new
plan will replace all existing development control plans and has been
developed in line with NSW Government requirements.
The draft LEP 2010 includes a written
document and a series of maps. Please follow the links to the draft LEP,
Maps, Draft DCP and other supporting material.
Details of the Public Exhibition and how
the community can provide feedback to Council on the Draft LEP or Draft DCP
are also provided.
