In an effort to assist with access to the Bega Valley following the Tathra bushfire disaster, Regional Express (REX) has announced additional flights for this week.
The extra services are as follows:
Friday 23 March
Saturday 24 March
Bega Valley Shire Council Mayor, Cr Kristy McBain, said the announcement of additional flights was very welcome.
“These additional services will provide further options for family and friends travelling here to visit and assist residents of Tathra who have been impacted by the disaster,” Cr McBain said.
“Professionals involved in the recovery process will also be able to take advantage of the increase in flights.
“At such a stressful time for all involved, I’m sure many people will take the opportunity to jump on a flight rather than make the long trek between Sydney and the Bega Valley on the road.
“We have been absolutely blown away by the response from the entire community and it is great to see REX doing what they can to help as well.
“The gesture is most appreciated REX – thank you very much,” Cr McBain said.
