Council’s Grant Management Officer April Merrick, an expert in writing grant applications, will run an online grant writing workshop on Tuesday 25 August to share what she knows about successfully applying for funding.

“Competing for funding opportunities is not easy and I want to make sure people leave with techniques that will help them put together a successful application,” Ms Merrick she said.

“The scheduling of this workshop is important, as the current Mumbulla Foundation grant round closes on 25 September and it takes time to write a winning application.

“Both beginner grant writers and those who want to refresh their knowledge and skills will benefit from this workshop.”

The workshop will include:

  • an overview of grants
  • where to find grant/funding opportunities
  • how to develop a great project
  • how to write a winning application.

An attendee at one of Ms Merrick’s grant writing workshops held last year said “April provided good advice and guidance on how we can improve our approach to applying for grants.”

The workshop is free and will run from 11am to 12.30pm. Registration is required.
