Bega Valley Shire Library is celebrating International Women’s Day this year with an evening of true and personal storytelling and live music.

Likely Story – an evening of stories, well lived, rarely told will be held at the Bega Valley Commemorative Civic Centre on the evening of 8 March 2021.

“We encourage women in the Bega Valley to consider telling their story at this unique event,” Council’s Library Services Coordinator, Megan Jordan-Jones said.

“We are looking for funny stories, brave stories, unlikely stories, quirky stories or life-changing stories. And they don’t necessarily have to have a happy ending.

“I’m sure every woman out there has at least one good story to tell and it only needs to be 10 minutes or less.”

If you think you have a story to tell, pitch your story idea using the library’s online recorder. Give a summary of your story and how it changed you.

Pitches close 14 February 2021.

For more information, call the library on (02) 6499 2127 or visit the library website where there are also storytelling tips and tricks.
