Works are nearing completion at the roundabout in Merimbula and are scheduled to finish in approximately two weeks.
The major redesign of the intersection and the construction works have been a joint project between Bega Valley Shire Council’s Design and Works teams.
This entailed the new kerb, gutter and footpath alignments, the roundabout and the reconstruction of the intersection.
Local contractor, Paul Manning from PGM Concreting has supplied prefabricated splitter islands and this has increased the speed of onsite progress from three weeks to one day for their placement.
100mm asphalt surface has been laid as the final pavement layer, and line-marking will commence in September 2015.
